Add support for serverless function blocks, as is currently available (albeit limited in scope at the moment) with AWS Lambda (http://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/welcome.html).
Yes, I'd really like to see this happen.
So the concept of "serverless" is really appealing to me. A python framework like Zappa lets you, with very little work, deploy existing Django or WSGI python web apps instantly. Deploying a python app with a framework like Zappa.io is like magic. However Zappa is currently only AWS compatible.
I'd really like to see a DigitalOcean offering in this space. And while you are at it, sponsor the guy(s) behind Zappa, to make a DO compatible version of Zappa.
It think it would make DO even more attractive as a deployment platform for small teams and solo-devs.
If DO really wants to compete with the "bigger" players like AWS or Azure it need to implement serverless. Just look at Netflix and Über everyone is adding serverless to the microserverices. Of course we would also like to add serverless to our microservices network.
There is an open source serverless plaform called "fn" (https://github.com/fnproject/fn) which would provide DO with the technology they need. Given that it's open-source and vendor agnostic, it would allow much greater interoperability between providers.
