DO Ideas 2

OK, I started my droplet - now what?

How do I connect with VNC so I can go to a browser, download Oracle, install it, etc.... I think you need a step-by-step FAQ for this stuff. Amazon has stuff like this: http://awsdocs.s3.amazonaws.com/EC2/2012-05-01/ec2-wg-2012-05-01.pdf

It is not yet possible but we will be integrating ISO management in the future so if you have a Linux ISO you will be able to upload and install your own Linux ver.

sample of installing Oracle 11g XE on Amazon Linux Micro Instance
    http://monkeyonoracle.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/installfest-oracle-11g-xe-on-amazon.html

I'm thinking about moving my project from AWS to ditigalocean because I'm not happy with Amazom pricing policy about I/O operations (0.11$ for each GB)

I'm using Oracle 11.2 XE (which is free) and glassfish. but I'm not sure is it possible to move the soft to your servers.

The article you linked to from AWS was for windows servers we do not currently offer Windows virtual servers.

We also do not currently have any documentation for Oracle products as we are primarily focused on open source.

If there is anything in the Open Source/Linux world that you would like to see documentation on please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Moisey

It would be great if you would add the direct link to what I asked for in this thread. I guess I'll go hunt it down myself.

We built a community section to help users get started that features articles on the most common Linux Administration tasks:

    https://www.digitalocean.com/community

If there are any particular articles that you would like to see that we don't currently have please use the Q&A section to request or send us an email to contact [at] digitalocean . com.

Also you can use the Q&A section to ask us best practices questions on how to install various software so that either we or a member of the community can answer.

    Thanks,
    Moisey
