How about giving ability to set up DNS PTR record - so called reverse DNS, it is most needed with the mail servers. Currently the IP address i use have no PTR record
If you are having an issue with reverse DNS please open up a ticket so we can troubleshoot it for you.
Hello, i also have a problem with my rDNS, this is the error:
Host 126.96.36.199.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
can you help me?
Reverse DNS is now fully supported based on the name you provide for your droplet in the control panel.
If you want to change the reverse DNS after the virtual server is created simply rename it from the virtual server page and reverse DNS will also get updated.
Reviewing that for you and will have an answer for you in your support ticket.
@Moisey Uretsky : PTR record is not configured for my instance. Why is that?
pallotron@skunk:~$ host 188.8.131.52
Host 184.108.40.206.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
Right now the reverse DNS is completely automated and pointed to your virtual servers hostname.
We will be updating the DNS functionality to allow you to set your own rDNS entries in the future to whatever you would like.
Can we request (through a support ticket) that a certain rDNS be set?
Currently reverse DNS is automatically configured based on the hostname of your virtual server.
One could use the Hurricane Electric tunnel broker to get address space ...
Need this started ASAP!
We will be adding the ability to manage reverse DNS records in our DNS management interface soon, however we do not have a specific ETA on that yet.
You won't be notified about changes to this idea.
