Provide some sort of email hosting

This could probably be solved with an image if the documentation covers how to add domains / accounts, but with gmail not being free anymore, dealing with postfix, exim, dovecot, courier, etc. is a nightmare.
Full disclosure: I haven't done any of that since the late 90s, and I'm finding it really frustrating to set up. I'd pay for that.

I've been struggling with this all afternoon... I would have paid for an image with LAMP + Postfix + Roundcube all setup nice and tidy for virtual domains, along with a set of instructions on how to configure it for my domains.

Business idea: Paid Images, or an ImageStore, like an AppStore. Woof, what a pain.

Unfortunately we won't be building out a hosted email solution as that is a tremendous undertaking and there are already plenty of competitors in the space that are offering such products including Gmail, SendGrid, and others.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Everything that's required for running your MTA should naturally flow into etc services so it will automatically get started, not sure you need to go the route of kickstart specifically.

How should we get that to you? I'm currently building out my email hosting, but once I have the setup nailed down, I'd be happy to pass it along. It'll be on top of Exim and MySQL and either Dovecot or Courier. I haven't decided yet on the IMAP server. Do you have any guides on how you do kickstart stuff?

No ETA on the image yet but if any customer puts together an email image that they like with a full MTA and webmail perhaps installed let us know, we'd love to promote it to the Applications tab to make it easier for other customers to roll it out.

    That's great news :)
Do you have some idea of when that will happen? I have a soft deadline of about a month to set up email for a couple domains. If you think you'll get that done by then, I'll be very happy :)

You are absolutely right, email hosting is a nightmare.

We are going to eventually put together an Email image that has everything pre-installed and ready to go.
