DO Ideas 2

No credit card required.

I am a developer since 2001 and i want to give digitalocean a try. I read very good things about it. So i want to make a fast trial. See "No credit card required" in homepage and after joining i see "you can still however register your account by providing a Credit Card which will unlock your account." I cant understand why they dont update their homepage. This is not good myfriends. Still i will give money and try this but i dont like this sale method.

We've updated both the front end, ads, and CP now that we no longer offer a free trial.

    Thanks!

We've moved away from the trial because of a lot of growth and also because it was causing a poor user experience for first time customers.

Because the hypervisors were shared with other trial users there was a lot of monitoring that was instated to ensure that abuse cases wouldn't come up, however if you sign-up with a credit card or paypal payment you do get an automatic credit to allow you to test the system for free for almost a week before incurring any charges.

Yes, kinda makes me question if I should put my credit card information. Is it possible to use virtual credit cards? and pay every month?

You can also use Paypal instead of credit card.

We've had a large amount of trial accounts so we had to temporarily suspend it however if you provide a credit card you will automatically receive a $1.25 credit which will allow you to use the 512MB virtual server for free for almost a week before incurring any charges.

    Thanks,
