We've integrated a new payments processor - BrainTree - and they have much better support for international credit cards so you should be running into this issue anymore.
Unfortunately we've run into issues with some international customers and their credit cards with our current merchant processor and we will be integrating BrainTree to help resolve this as they supposedly have much better international support.
