DO Ideas 2

Provide and API for querying the running/queued events of a droplet.

For now, we can only check the event's status if we already know the event's id.

I think that would be useful to have a way to retrieve the events of a given droplet, that are currently running/queued.

    Admin Response

Hi! We recently released version 2 of our API into public beta. There are many improvements including a new `/actions` endpoint that provides a list of all actions. Check out the docs: We're looking to get as much feedback as possible on the new API. If you have any thing else you'd like to see in it, please open an issue on our GitHub page: Thanks!

Firstly, I second this suggestion. It would be useful if droplet API calls returned the event ids or even the event_details. I would also like to say that being able to list ALL events under my client id, particularly any which are still in progress would be very helpful. Right now I have to keep track of the event IDs in my application– and if something goes wrong, there is no way to synchronize state been the API and my application.

Any timeframe on that? I know it has an absurdly low vote count, but it's important for utility apps.

I'm writing a small app and this is a must during lengthy deployments. :-)

It seems logical to me that the event IDs (maybe even details) should be returned in JSON describing a particular droplet, in both "…/droplets/" and ".../droplets/<id>" calls.
