I want a PFSense instance at digitalocean I really want to be able to instantiate a cloud based VPN solution for cheap.
Can we please? This is so needed in the cloud right now, firewall appliances the users control, give a choice of pfsense, opensense and get a deal with sophos or someone to provide a costly option. See, I made it make money for ya, now go, shoo, make this happen.... (please, thank you).
Seeing as DO already has the internal VNET between droplets in the same data-center this would be an excellent way to provide a security envelope with a cloud security appliance. FreeBSD is already offered- would pfsense really be such a pain to implement at this point?
Please add pfsense droplet.
pfsense droplet. yes please.
I've switched to Azure now - because in the last 2 years there is no Action in this :-(
I would definitely be an happy costumer and a long term user if DO offers PfSense natif
Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure both support pfSense in the cloud. As supporters of open source, DigitalOcean should definitely follow suite! This seems very possible on the technical level after announcing support for FreeBSD earlier this year.
I want a native pfsense droplet too!
I favor a pfSense distribution but would settle for droplet install from ISO uploaded and then DVD attached at boot. Sorry to say that vultr does this flawlessly. But I need the Toronto siting that they don't have (yet)
This would be amazing! Please consider doing this.
DO be the first to offert PFSense as distro !
Please review this, it looks like its been sitting out for awhile. We are looking to build a backup site on DO as a foray into the cloud. Being able to have a droplet running pfsense would be awesome.
This will still be a very useful droplet to be added.
exellent idea !!
If FreeBSD is supported why pfSense isn't?
Add this immediately!!!!
I absolutely support this
It would be awesome to have a 4GB PFSense router in front of all my droplets. Then VPN in for changes, and management!
ALL THE VOTES!!!!
Adding PfSense will allow us to provide better security and functionality to our servers
This would be amazing
I just ran across an issue where a pfsense instance would be a perfect solution. +1
I think there are enough votes
pfsense is a nice cloud based VPN solution
Please add pfsense
pfSense offers support and the ability to filter out torrent traffic. If I can't get this to work i will need to leave digital ocean as there does not seem to be a good solution for L7 filtering of torrent traffic.
Definitely seems like a good idea to be able to roll out pfSense either for a VPN or for a firewall. It's one of the few things missing from DigitalOcean's services
+3 for me.
Even if the overly simple original request represents a colossal understatement of pfSense's use cases and capabilities.
pfSense is awesome!
Would love to setup pfsense on a DO droplet instead of Amazon. +3 votes
Hello, please add pfsense, Thanks!
Your offering pfsense will bring my business back from Amazon
It would be really great, if you provide to create PFSense droplet.
Amazon EC2 is already providing:
Would be nice to have
+3 Yes please!
Today's announcement of FreeBSD support on DO is very promising. Any feedback from DO staff on the feasibility and time frames for a pfSense droplet would be greatly appreciated :)
Now that FreeBSD is supported I'm hoping this will be more viable
+1 for pfSense support!!! Since we'll have FreeBSD support soon (http://digitalocean.uservoice.com/forums/136585-digitalocean/suggestions/3232571-support-bsd-os), support pfSense will be very feasible.
What does gathering feedback mean? is this an auto flag, or something that is set by a DO moderator?
Please make this an option. The pfSense image might need some adjustments (to get the VirtIO working) but this is doable using the following hints. Incorporate these changes in the install image and nobody will face issues.
pfSense has a _very_ good OpenVPN GUI and the firewall itself is very clever.
I would also like to see pfSense added as a droplet option. would make a great VPN, small DNS server, internet diagnostic platform.
Yep, I vote for PFsense as well. its more than just VPN, plus DO should be happy provide this as this has will help there network aswell
second this: we're looking for a reliable VPS to host a pfsense box and put it in front of other (web)servers - actually hosted on DO - as we used to do before. A native option would be more than awesome, another distro to mantain sometimes isn't enough.
Yes, pfSense would be awesome!
Did you guys get a PFsense instance? I am interested too.
It's been a REALLY long time since I tinkered w/PFSense; but, isn't the PFS VPN based on OpenVPN? If so, couldn't you accomplish your goal w/any Linux distro. on DO?
You won't be notified about changes to this idea.
