DO Ideas 2

Create a datacenter in Israel

Would be really appreciated if you could open a new datacenter in Israel.

Many companies and individuals would use your israeli datacenter, including myself.

No major company supports Israel, if you would be the first one - it could "break the market" there.

Also - Israel is very close to turkey.

Thanks in advance :)

The competition in Israel will be crashed against DO ease and price.. you should consider it!

I'd really appreciate this and I'm willing to pay much more than I currently do.

Israel has many Datacenters, most of them have excellent power backups and multiple optic fibers to the European junctions (via MedNautilus, Tamares Telecom and Bezeq International).

The problem is that the prices are usually higher than the prices in the big european DCs.

Prices for 1U co-location with 10mbit connectivity is anywhere between 75$-100$.

Prices for any added 1Mbit is usually around 10$/month and can go down to around 5$ for bulk.

Israel is a major junction for international companies - IBM, Intel, Waze, Google and many others. The currently available prices for cloud and vps services in Israel are about 2-4 times higher than what DO offers.

Hope to see you soon :)

    Excellent idea!

I'm not living in Israel, but I do a lot of business there. To have a datacenter of DigitalOcean there would be incredible!
I wouldn't mind if I'd have to pay a couple of extra dollars for it..

An answer for Kye Alan Russel:
    There are datacenters in Israel.
Be surprised but many major companies are based in Israel. For example Zend and Waze.

But the problem is the high price offered for a service. Cloud server with 1Gb of ram and 30GB of diskspace can cost up to 50$ per month.

If DigitalOcean will get to Israel, it can set the industry on fire.

It is very doable at Tel Aviv.

Are there even datacenters in Israel? I don't see this as remotely doable.

    This notion is very useful.
I'd suggest myself the same Idea, because, your services are cheap & quality (quality is emphasised ) , and connection to Droplets in Israel will cut significantly the connection time.
It's good idea for the Israelian users (I know personally a few users from Israel who will this idead a lot).

    Thank you, Digital Ocean !
