Attach invoice PDF with 1st of month email notification...

Please attach the invoice PDF to the 1st of the month email notification. Or make it a settings options for users to have this. It would just make accounts filing easier as I'd have a copy of the invoice without having to log in to my account and download each an every invoice. Cheers!

    yes please and as others commented already - make an option to add especial email for the accounting department, so the developers does not have to log in and download the invoice every month.

    Also, at least from my perspective, I see no need to include a PDF (as a file attachment) in my "invoice generated (1st of the month) email notification". Instead, just include the absolute link to the PDFs (or CSVs) already posted on my Billing screen (see screenshot: https://screencast.com/t/yK8xqOxA). Fior the PDF, this link looks like this: cloud.do.com/billing/1234567890.pdf?i=1a2b3c

    Hitting this link already requires authentication so I can see this option (adding absolute PDF and CSV links to existing monthly invoice email) being a BIG win if implemented.

    and it is even more annoying, having to authentificate with two factor auth again every month (cause i usually only log in 1-2 times a month)

    I would really appreciate this feature as well. We have many invoices for various services every month and I have to forward them to our accounting dpt. Getting an invoice from DO is just a slow process. Thank you!

    That would be super handy. I forward all my invoices to an inbox email address in my bookkeeping tool that automatically tracks invoices from pdfs. But this is not possible with Digital Ocean because the pdf is not included.

    I was just going to post the same idea, but found it's already here. I wish it would be possible not only to have PDF attached to the e-mail directly (our accounting has no way of logging in to download on their own), but also to be able to specify a separate billing e-mail address to which those would be sent. Each month a technical team has to download an invoice and forward it to the accounting which is something I wish the techies wouldn't have to do. Thumbs up all the way!

    I came here just to vote on this, i agree that this is somewhat urgent and weird its not there already. Its just a matter of *attaching* the actual pdf to the mail you're already sending?

    I have a customer at DO who is literally wanting to move her site to another provider because she doesn't like the process of retrieving her invoices each month. This seems like such a basic feature for you to implement. Why not do so?

    We set up digitalocean droplets for our clients. They are asking for exactly this feature. The accounting team needs access to the monthly invoice pdfs without needing to log in.

    Looks like i'll have to disappoint them since this feature is requested almost 4 years ago and is still not implemented ...

    Currently, when Digital Ocean sends its monthly billing invoice via email it doesn't attach the invoice to the email. Instead it gives a link to access the invoice, which is hosted elsewhere. This is nonsensical because it causes unnecessary additional steps in our Accounts Payable process when we're attaching invoices to expense payments.

    Most SaaS/IaaS providers (i.e. GSuite, AWS etc) attach their monthly invoice as a PDF within an email and DO NOT require the customer to access the invoice elsewhere via a link.

    Our organisation would benefit greatly if the invoices are simply attached as a PDF in the email, instead of a link. I'm also convinced that many other organisations who use Digital Ocean would benefit from this too.

    Please implement!

    Agreed.

    A bookkeeper or accountant should not need to have a DO account to be able to get a business's invoices.

    The invoice should be generated in PDF and sent to whatever accounts email address a user defines (or multiple accounts if desired) without the recipient needing to log in to access the invoice.

    This is quite common practice and makes administration substantially more streamlined.

    this is must for all of us to get the invoices in the email .. we are using services from many host companies and many other services like domains, email services etc . all are sending their monthly / annual renewal invoices over email.

    so i think this should be implemented on DO as well as this is very basic need of all the managers.

    This is absolutely a must.
    Having my account secured by 2FA makes the operation of fetching invoices very annoying and unnecessary, and reducing security on my account is obviously a no-go.

    Seriously, how long you have to think about that?

    It's absurd I have login each month just to get an invoice copy for accounting office.

    …No I don't want my accounting lady to have admin privileges over my droplets. This is ridiculous.

    Yes please from us too. In any business the accounts department needs the invoices to check payments and for tax - especially for purchases on the Company credit card.

    Having the option to send the paid PDF invoice to the accounts email address at the end of the billing period would be very, very useful.

    PLEASE do something about this. It's a nightmare. Every month, have to login, find the correct invoice, download as a PDF, find in my downloads folder, attach to email and send to our accountant. 5 steps could be simplified to a forward if you simply attach the invoice PDF to the email.

    I have to send the invoices to our accountant. Every month I have to log in, go to the billing etc. It would help me if I had quick access to the invoice in the payment receipt email.

    There are a few solutions for this:

    solution 1) attach the invoice as a PDF to the email
    solution 2) put a direct download link in the email
    solution 3) have 1 invoice per year

    For emailing invoices I would like to be able to specify a separate email address. We have a dedicated email address for incoming invoices as gathering invoices that drop in all over the place is a big pita.

    @DigitalOcean: Any update on this? Looks like a small change... even just a link to the invoice..
    It's quite frustrating to login every month.. going to settings.. billing.. and downloading the invoice,
    while the email could have or a link, or directly an attachment :)

    I also want my invoices in my mailbox or even better, in the mailbox of my accountant.
    the login part is so frustrating and makes me hesitate to suggest DO services to bigger clients.

    Please. Please. Add this. Its easy as hell to implement and would save me a ton of time. Cant be that a CEO must log in to a system and download an invoice each and every month for the accounting staff.

    Yes. I would love to make an email rule to forward just invoices to accounting, either with an attachment or direct link. Just providing the amount doesn't work for them.

    I agree, while not mission critical it does save time.
    All my other suppliers, service providers, etc already have this implemented. Should have thought this would be easy to achieve and common place.

    It's time lost to check in the billing section for the invoices.
    The majority of services that I use provides the ability for their customers to receive invoices via email.

    Totally agree to have some feature like this. I have to forward the bill to finance. If would easier if I can set the email to go to them directly instead of having to retrieve the pdf and send it to them.

    I agree. Especially if you enabled two factor authentication. Logging in and downloading the pdf is just unnecessary overhead.

    Shouldn't be too hard to implement, since you already have the generation of PDFs in your web interface... Seeing from the csfr token on the admin interface, it looks like a Ruby on Rails app, and guessing from that, you might have either Sidekiq, Delayed Job or similar doing the monthly emails about billing?

    For my accounting, I need to have all my invoices printed each quarter, it would be cool if DigitalOcean can send those by email again so we, the professional clients, got a better overview of the expenses and can print them directly.

    Shouldn't be much work to add one checkbox 'email new invoices' at the preferences/billing page I assume?

    Another reason, right now we have to give the login to all the tech stuff to accounts so that they can download the incvoice (or an admin has to forward the invoice by hand)

    It would be super awesome to receive the invoice via mail since our accounting department should not login into the digital ocean account. its a hassle (2-factor auth) and it doesnt make sense. and we have to do it every month. pretty please, attach the PDF to the notification email.
