We can resize our droplet by just shutting down it , but it will more exiting if we can resize our droplet without shutting down.
Also would love to see the ability to keep the same IP on downgrade too.
My clients and I cannot afford 30-60+ minutes downtime for shutting down a droplet, creating a snapshot, then resizing the disk. (And I don't want to wake up at 2 AM to perform this operation.)
As cloud is all about be able to scale up and down easily, it should be possible to do that without downtime.
Unsure about no downtime but at least a process available that does this for you. Instead of doing it by hand which cost another extra ~30sec downtime.
I agree. I have a lot of services running on my machine which i have to stop before shutting down and upgrading which makes the 1min downtime change to 5-10mins.
Many other 'smaller' providers even allow upgrades in real time without any downtime.
Even if you could replicate the vm in real time to an upgraded spec with just a few seconds of downtime for the switch of ip address would be a massive improvement.
Just an idea :)
While everything seems fast, it would be nice if the upgrading/downgrading of a droplet was quicker. Right now the process of scaling up takes much too long.
